The question we answer

Where should I go if the ocean experience matters as much as the luxury of the holiday? Most travel sites answer half of that question. Surf publications focus on waves; dive sites focus on reefs; luxury travel media focuses on hotels. We bring the three together, and we always start with the water.

Who we write for

Our primary readers are European travellers (from the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Scandinavia) planning premium surf, dive, freedive and ocean-focused holidays. That shapes how we write: seasons framed around the European calendar, honest discussion of long-haul versus short-haul, and planning advice that respects limited holiday time.

How we work

Surf and Dive is written and maintained by the Surf and Dive Editorial Team. Our destination pages and blog posts are built from official tourism-board information, recognised surf, dive and freediving organisations and established travel sources, combined with editorial judgement about who each destination suits.

• We do not fabricate first-hand experience. We do not claim to have surfed a break, dived a reef or stayed in a resort unless that is genuinely true, and we say so when it is.
• We do not invent facts. No made-up prices, flight times, availability, awards, partnerships, reviews or testimonials.
• We qualify seasonal information. Conditions are described as typical patterns, never guarantees.
• Scores are editorial. Our 1-10 scores for surf, diving, freediving, luxury and scenery are positioning scores to help comparison, not objective rankings.

Independence

Surf and Dive is an editorial discovery platform, not a booking engine. We do not currently sell holidays or accept payment for inclusion. If that ever changes, for example through affiliate links or partnerships, we will disclose it clearly on every affected page.
